HYDERABAD: The second lunar eclipse (penumbral) of the year occurring on July 7 will not be visible from India. It will be visible from Australia, Pacific and America, according N. Ragunandan Kumar of Planetary Society. He said this eclipse was only of academic interest. This will be followed by a total solar eclipse on July 22 which can be seen from India. Stressing that the solar eclipse must be seen only through solar filters, he said the Society would make them available at a cost of Rs.50 for each pair. The Society will conduct scientific experiments involving students to disprove superstitious beliefs about the impact of eclipse. There will be yet another lunar eclipse on August 7, which will be visible from India.
