HYDERABAD: Orissa Tourism Minister Debi Prasad Mishra on Sunday said discussions were on to explore the possibility of introducing a sea cruise between Visakhapatnam and Kolkata. An MoUbetween the governments of Orissa and Andhra Pradesh would soon be signed in this regard. on Saturday, he said Orissa was a major Buddhist tourism destination, with two villages - Maniabandhan and Nuapatna, where about 5,000 families lived. Also, Snow World, Asia’s first and largest snow theme park had expressed desire to set up a Snow Park in Orissa, he informed. With an over 480-km coastline and several interesting destinations, Orissa had attracted over two lakh tourists from Andhra Pradesh alone. Overall, the last year had seen an increase of 11 and six per cent in foreign and domestic tourists, respectively. The State had every tourist destination that people could hope to see except a desert, he said. Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (MPTDC) Managing Director Lohani on Sunday showcased the State’s heritage sites, pilgrim centres, wildlife parks and leisure destinations and invited tourists to have a first-hand experience. Participating in a seminar organised by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, he said MP was considered the heart of India and no tourist could actually miss a visit to the State.
