Centre’s offer on ‘Bhoobharati’ programme

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Impressed by the integrated land survey programme implemented in Nizamabad district as a pilot project, the Union government has offered to meet a half of the cost of the State’s Rs 1,500-crore bigger project taken up to extend the experiment to the rest of the districts.

Revenue Minister D. Prasada Rao, who announced this at a media conference recently, said the programme named ‘Bhoobharati’ would immediately be taken up in six districts -- Karimnagar, Srikakulam, Nellore, Kadapa, Nellore and Guntur.

Tenders would be called relaxing the earlier terms and offering some concessions to the bidders. The land surveys would be undertaken with the help of satellite imageries and physical verification made at ground level by surveyors to fix the boundaries.
