Railway pensioners living in Satyanarayanapet, V.V. Nagar and Prabhat Nagar have been drawing their monthly pensions all these days from the DRM office extension of the counter of the State Bank of India, Guntakal. This facility was withdrawn and now we have to operate our accounts in the head office bank which is very far and cannot be reached by walk. Pensioners will have to spend around Rs. 50 every time for auto, besides the extra strain. This is very unkind; hence the bank authorities are requested to restore the earlier facility. R. Dwarakanatha Rao, Guntakal Awareness on swine flu neededSwine flu is fast spreading to smaller cities like Anantapur. Though the Centre has given assurance that the H1N1 is 100 per cent curable and medicines are aplenty, people are not aware of the symptoms and the precautions that are to be taken. With the onset of the monsoon there is a danger of rise in such diseases. The government should come out clear cut suggestions with regard to the preventive measures. G. Jagannadh, Anantapur Check the price riseIn our country the worst sufferers are the middle class people. The governments impose on them direct and indirect taxes and more often the tax burden is enhanced on the middle class sections quite frequently. Now these sections are groaning under the weight of rising prices. Rice, sugar, oil pulses name a commodity and the price is out of their reach. Government should come to the rescue of the middle class people by taking immediate measures to check the prices of essential commodities. T. Sarma, Madanapalle
