Minister: DSC appointments transparent

Special Correspondent

GUNTUR: The appointment of teachers through the DSC will be held in the most transparent manner and the district wise merit lists announced very soon, said Minister for Secondary Education Dokka Manikya Vara Prasada Rao.

Those candidates, who feel that they had got lesser marks than expected, could get their answer sheets checked by paying a fee of Rs.500 and compare it with the key issued.

Discrepancy

“In case of any discrepancy, their versions would be considered to set right the injustice if any,” the minister added.

About the percentage of posts to be allocated for D.Ed and B.Ed. candidates would depend on the decision of the court and the total number of vacancies in the SGTs decided then, he said.

All allegations of irregularities in the conduct of DSCs and recruitment process were baseless, he said and added that the Government was eager to recruit good teachers in the coming years also through DSCs to improve the quality of education in Government schools.

School fee

Dwelling on the school fee in private institutions, he said that the Government was looking into the Navin Mittal Committee report and based on that it would take the final decision on the issue.
