Man ‘murders’ step-son

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: A call centre car driver allegedly murdered his four-year-old step-son in their house by showering blows on his chest at Mustaidpura in Kulsumpura on Saturday.

The victim, Mohd. Mohiuddin, was youngest of the four children of Zarina Parveen, 26, whom the driver, Syed Nasir, 22, married four months ago after she divorced her first husband.

She used to frequent the Puranapul Dargah where she met Nasir, a bachelor. On learning that she was jobless and had to support four children, Nasir came forward to marry her.

Police version

“Within few days of marriage, he began to hate the four children and used to frequently beat them,” Goshamahal Assistant Commis- sioner of Police, Radha Krishna, told reporters. Parveen went out around 2 p.m. on some work. On return, she found Mohiuddin lying dead on the floor with bruises on head and chest.

Feigns ignorance

Initially, the car driver feigned innocence but eventually agreed to having killed the boy by hitting on his chest in a fit of anger.

Nasir was taken into custody and the body was shifted to the Osmania morgue for performing autopsy.
