Applications invited for awards

CHENNAI: The State government has invited applications from individuals and organisations who have rendered excellent rehabilitation services to physically challenged persons, on Independence Day.
The awards would be in eight categories which included the best private employer who has provided maximum employment opportunities to the physically challenged and the best social worker who voluntarily provided services to the physically challenged. Filled-in applications along with enclosures and photograph of the individual should be sent in duplicate duly recommended by the District Disabled Rehabilitation Officer concerned to the Principal Secretary/State Commissioner for the Disabled, 15/1, Model School Road, Thousand Lights, Chennai-600 006 on or before July 25, according to a press release.
