Staff Reporter

12,883 seats were on offer on day one

11 candidates not allowed to take

part in counselling

Bangalore: The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K) on Saturday began its counselling for engineering seats.

While 1,500 candidates were allotted for day one of engineering counselling, only 387 candidates chose their seats from the 12,883 that were on offer, according to an official press release.

After the first day of counselling, there are 12,265 seats available under general merit category, 126 under Christian Minority (Karnataka candidates only), 82 under Tulu Minority (Karnataka candidates only) and 35 under Konkani Minority (Karnataka candidates only). As many as 11 candidates were not allowed to take part in the counselling due to fraudulent attempts, such as coming with bogus certificates, tampering of certificates and impersonation. The college-wise remaining seats and the seat allotment made on the first day is available in COMED-K website ( www.comedk.org), the release added.
