Union commended

TIRUCHI: District Co-operative Union is rendering yeoman services to the society, particularly to the farming community, said S. Mathivanan, special officer of the union, here recently.

Addressing the general body meeting, he said that the co-operative union was taking special efforts in creating awareness among the farmers about the facilities and services including disbursal of loans being provided by the primary agricultural operative banks (PACBs). He said that the union was also providing information to the public and the farmers about the availability of fertilisers .

Mr. Mathivanan pointed out that the union was also conducting free veterinary camps, offering help for milk co-operative societies and conducted youth motivation camp for students to create awareness on co-operative movement. He said that special training programmes were being conducted for the staff working in the fair price shops and in other co-operative institutions. R. Brinda, Special Officer of Tiruchi District Central Co-operative Bank, T. Veeravinodhan, general manager of TDCCB spoke.
