TIRUNELVELI: The 19-day old strike by Siddha students here was withdrawn on Friday night following the assurance from officials. After the police rushed three of the seven students who were on an indefinite fast to Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital for treatment. When Tirunelveli RDO Mariappan and Palayamkottai Tahsildar Gana. Murugananadam met the students, they told that they wanted to meet Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and Minister for Public Health M.R.K. Panneer Selvam. As the officials assured the protesting students that they would take all out efforts to fix an appointment with Mr. Stalin before July 15, they withdrew their agitation.
