Grant of land to parishat

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Friday directed the State Government to take back the land it had granted to Omkar Ashram for construction of 12 Jyotirlingam temples at Ganakallu village in Kengeri hobli, Bangalore South.

Justice L. Narayanaswamy passed the order on a petition by Madhusudanandapuri Swamiji, Peethadikari of Omkar Ashram.

Swamiji’s petition

The swamiji had petitioned the court against the decision of the Special Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Bangalore Urban to auction eight acres in Ganakallu village and hand it over to the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath.

Justice Narayanaswamy dismissed the petition and upheld the grant of land to the parishath.
