High Court allows BGML global tender for gold extraction

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Friday allowed the global tender of Bharat Gold Mines Ltd. (BGML) for extracting gold from cyanide dumps on its premises in Kolar Gold Fields (KGF). Justice B.V. Nagaratna, however, modified certain conditions in allowing the global tender and partly allowed the company’s petition. It said only those involved in the extraction of gold would be allowed to participate in the global tender and that first option after the calling of tenders would have to be given to the forum of supervisors and employees of BGML.
