BITS-Pilani warns of bogus admissions

HYDERABAD: BITS-Pilani has warned students not to fall prey to false assurances being given by unknown persons on admissions and payment of fee. In a statement here, BITS officials said that some students got SMSes asking them to come and attend counselling at Ravindra Bharati and pay Rs. 80,000 for counselling. The management of BITS-Pilani mentioned that such messages are bogus and that any candidate who is offered admission to BITS-Pilani campuses would get official intimation directly from BITS-Pilani. Students can access this information through Internet also. The authorities said they hold no responsibility, for such false SMSes or similar communication through other possible means and they would like to alert the student community against such potential traps.
