MSU signs MoU with Oracle University

P. Sudhakar

TIRUNELVELI: The Manonmaniam Sundaranar University has signed a unique Memorandum of Understanding with Oracle University for Workforce Development Program (WDP).

The forward-looking MoU, signed recently at the initiative of Vice-Chancellor R. T. Sabapathy Mohan by Registrar (in-charge) K.A. Manikumar with the Oracle University, will allow the MSU to deliver Instructor-led Oracle Training leading to certifications (Oracle Certified Professional - OCP), which will be jointly given by MSU and Oracle University.

The MoU will meet the objective of enabling MSU students to have access to Oracle authorised training at a very low cost. The WDP will expose the university students to Oracle University courseware and CDs during the training. The WDP will enable MS University to be a part of the Global Education Partner Network of Oracle University.

Host of benefits

The alliance will also offer MSU students a host of benefits in employment opportunities in the IT industry. Oracle University has trained the lecturers of MSU to offer the programme and the courseware in book format will be given to each student. The Centre for Information Technology and Engineering (CITE) of MSU, headed by N. Krishnan, will be the executing agency.

“To start with, this programme will be offered to all students studying in the university’s main campus irrespective of their course of study. Subsequently, the university will extend this facility to students of affiliated colleges also in the near future so that all students of MSU will have an edge over their competitors,” said Dr.Sabapathy Mohan.
