Stalin flags off mobile blood bank

CHENNAI: Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin flagged off the mobile blood bank of the government General Hospital at the Secretariat on Saturday.

According to Health Secretary V.S. Subburaj, the six-bed, fully computerised mobile blood bank would be stationed on the Marina beach on Sundays between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. and create awareness about blood donation.

The mobile blood bank is capable of collecting 75 to 150 units of blood. The total cost of the bank is Rs.50 lakh. — Special Correspondent
