Stalin distributes cash awards to school toppers

CHENNAI: Deputy Chief Minister M.K.Stalin on Saturday distributed cash awards to 25 students of Corporation schools who scored high marks in the SSLC and Plus two examinations.
Each student was given Rs 10,000 cash and a certificate.
According to a press release, Rs 4.53 crore had been deposited in the TUFIDCO and the interest was being used to give cash awards to student. The students were selected from the merit list obtained from the Education Department.
Chennai Mayor M.Subramanian, Coimbatore Mayor R. Venkatachalam, Madurai Mayor Thenmozhi Gopinathan, Tirupur Mayor Selvaraj, Municipal Administration and Water Supplies Department Secretary Niranajn Mardi and Municipal Administration Director P. Senthilkumar were present.
