Two die, 18 hospitalised due to gastroenteritis

MAHABUBNAGAR: Two persons died and 18 others were hospitalised due to the outbreak of GE (gastroenteritis) at Mogal Madaka village in Damargidda mandal.

According to sources, GE was rampant in the village for the past two days. On Friday Pabbulappa (65) and Rajappa Goud (68) died while 10 others were shifted to Narayanpet area hospital. On Saturday eight persons whose condition was critical were also shifted to the hospital.

Medical teams are camping in the village taking all measures to check the disease. Water contamination is believed to be the main reason for the outbreak. The authorities took up chlorination of drinking water sources .
