Move on vaccine units welcomed

CHENNAI: The Tamilnadu Health Development Association has welcomed the statement made by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare announcing plans to revive and revamp three public sector vaccine manufacturing units at Kasauli, Coonoor and Guindy.

In a statement, president of the association C.S. Rex Sargunam urged the government to include production of polio and measles vaccine, an essential component of the immunisation programme in the country, and expand production to other vaccines for Hepatitis B and MMR.
