No fee hike for engineering, pharmacy courses
HYDERABAD: There will be no fee hike for engineering and pharmacy courses this year in both the convenor and management quota seats.
However, Pharm-D course fee has been fixed at Rs. 67,500 for convenor quota seat and Rs. 1.51 lakh for the management quota seat. APSCHE Chairman K.C. Reddy said that the Admission and Fee Regulation Committee (AFRC) has not found favour with the arguments of the college managements for fee hike. He said since the last revision in 2006-07, fee was hiked by 24 per cent based on inflation. Since the hike was substantial and more so the inflation reducing drastically now, the AFRC thought there is no need for fee hike, he said.
UGC pay scales
Prof. Reddy said the college managements cited the UGC pay scales for their teachers in favour of fee hike but it was rejected on the grounds that the State government is yet to constitute a committee to look into these scales. The government will think of increasing the fee when UGC pay scales are implemented .
Prof. Reddy said the notification for engineering, pharmacy, MBA and MCA courses is likely to be issued on July 9.
