Lok Adalat settles 211 accident claim cases

CUTTACK: At least 211 motor vehicle accident claim cases were settled on a single day at the district-level Lok Adalat held here on Saturday. Sources said Rs 1,90,64,500 was awarded to all the claimants of the cases. Insurance companies like New India Assurance, United India Assurance, National Assurance, Oriental Assurance, Bajaj Allianz and Reliance insurance participated in the Lok Adalat. The Lok Adalat was earlier inaugurated by the acting Chief Justice of Orissa High Court Justice I.M. Qudussi. At least six district-level judges decided upon the cases and after hearing both claimants and insurance companies, the claims were settled amicably.
