BHUBANESWAR: In a major administrative reshuffle, the State government on Saturday changed positions of at least 12 officers of Indian Administrative Service and eight officers of Orissa Administrative Services. Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Aparajita Sarangi has been transferred as director special projects and ex-officio Additional Secretary to Government in Panchayati Raj department. Ms. Sarangi will be replaced by Vishal Kumar Dev, district magistrate of Balasore. AMR Dalwai, Steel and Mines Secretary, has been allowed to continue as Chairman of the Orissa Mining Corporation (OMC). His additional responsibility as chairman of Industrial Investment Promotion Corporation of Orissa Limited (IPICOL) has been handed over to State Industries Secretary Saurabh Garg. Similarly, Hemant Sharma, who is holding post of director of industries, has been appointed Managing Director of the IPICOL. With this additional appointment of A.K.K. Meena as MD of IPICOL stands terminated. Saswat Mishra, who is presently servicing district magistrate of Keonjhar, will take over as Managing Director of the OMC. District Magistrate of Jagatsinghpur Pramod Kumar Meherda has been transferred to Mayurbhanj District. The incumbent district magistrate of Mayurbhanj S.K. Vashishth has been posted as Managing Director of the Orissa State Civil Supplies Corporation. The State government has also effected reshuffle in district magistrate’s post of a few districts more. Swami D.V., Gajapati district Collector, has been transferred to Angul district. Present Angul Collector Girish S.N. has been shifted to neighbouring Dhenkanal district. Present Dhenkanal district Collector Mrinalini Darswal will be holding the post of Joint Secretary in Housing and Urban Development Department. Moreover, Debajani Chakrabarti, district magistrate of Jharsuguda, has been appointed as the Director of Fisheries. Senior OAS officer Gyanaranjan Dash, Nabarangpur district magistrate, will replace Pramod Kumar Meherda in Jagatsinghpur district while Hrushikesh Tripathy has been transferred as the district magistrate of mineral rich Keonjhar. Koraput district magistrate Bichitrananda Das has been posted as the Additional Secretary in School and Mass Education Department. Other OAS officers, who have been shifted from their posts included, Dhananjaya Das, Fakir Charan Satpathy, Krushna Chandra Patra, Gadadhar Parida and Prakash Chandra Das.
