One-crore burglary at Sainik Farms
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: A bag containing jewellery and other valuables worth about Rs.1 crore was stolen from the farmhouse of a businessman at Sainik Farms here on Thursday night.
According to the police, the theft came to light when Vineet Jain, who runs Skoda and Bajaj showrooms in South Delhi and East Delhi, woke up on Friday morning and found the bag containing the valuables missing.
Subsequently the police were informed.
Mr. Jain told the police that he returned to Delhi from Kolkata on Thursday and had kept the valuables in the bag.
Preliminary investigations by the police suggested that the thief entered the building through the terrace.
The crime took place when Mr. Jain, his family and domestic helps were in the farmhouse.
The police are questioning the domestic helps for any clues to the theft.
