Marginal increase in price of LPG cylinders

CHENNAI: An upward revision in the commission paid to the liquefied petroleum gas distributors has resulted in a small increase in the price of domestic LPG cylinders.
Sources in Indian Oil Corporation said the price per 14.2 kg cylinder in Chennai increased from Rs.314.55 to Rs.315.95 from Wednesday.
While distributors say it has largely gone unnoticed, an official of IOC said since the nationwide increase was negligible there was no public announcement. The companies had informed the distributors and they would inform the customers at the time of delivery. Consumer activist T. Sadagopan said big or small companies should come out with a public announcement about change in prices.
