‘Depressed’ web designer commits suicide Crime Notes

Bangalore: A 30-year-old web designer, married barely two months ago, hanged himself at his home near Sarakki here on Friday. R. Rajashekar, a native of Mysore, was staying with his wife, Swarnalatha, a software engineer with Infosys, at Shakhambari Nagar near Sarakki.

His distraught family refused to speak to the media, but friends said he had been suffering from depression for the past few months. “He was a web designer at First Line Software Company. He opened the door to his wife who had returned from night shift in the early hours of Friday. She went to sleep and he hanged himself in the other bedroom,” said a police officer. The suicide came to light around 11.30 a.m. when Ms. Swarnalatha woke up.

Nurse killed

A 24-year-old staff nurse working with the Sagar Apollo Hospital was killed on the spot and her fiancé escaped with minor injuries when a goods carrier hit their two-wheeler on Seshadri Road here on Friday.

Taradevi, a native of Hassan, was riding pillion with her fiancé, Ashok, when the bigger vehicle hit them near the Central Jail Junction, DCP(Traffic) Panduranga H. Rane said.
