CBI questions former FSL official Malini

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Officials of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) here on Friday questioned the former Assistant Director of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) S. Malini in connection with the narco analysis conducted on the three accused in the Sister Abhaya murder case.

According to CBI sources, a team visited the FSL premises on Friday and interrogated her.

The CBI is looking into the alleged tampering of three compact discs (CDs) containing the narco analysis of Fr. Thomas Kottoor, Fr. Jose Puthrikayil and Sister Sephy in the Abhaya case.

Ms. Malini had conducted those tests and the Ernakulam magistrate has directed the CBI to find the original recording. The CBI had been waiting to question Ms. Malini who had been away from the city for the past five days.

Time sought

Her absence also forced the agency to seek time to submit its progress report on its efforts to trace the original recording.

Others questioned

Earlier, the CBI officials questioned FSL Director B.M. Mohan, scientific assistant Praveen, a receptionist and a peon of FSL.
