Bangalore: The results of the supplementary Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations conducted in June will be announced on Saturday. The pass percentage is 54.74, according to a release from the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB). According to the statistics available, of the 2.24 lakh students who appeared for the examination, 1.01 lakh passed. As many as 1.39 lakh boys and 85,153 girls wrote the examination. The statistics reveal that girls had fared better than the boys. Of the 1.39 lakh boys who appeared for the examination, 72,561 passed taking the pass percentage to 51.95. Of the 85,153 girls who wrote the examination, 50,512 passed taking the pass percentage to 59.32. Students from the rural areas – both boys and girls – have fared better than their urban counterparts. While boys from rural areas secured a pass percentage of 54.36, those from the urban areas secured 49.49. Meanwhile, girls from rural areas secured 61.09 and those from urban areas secured 57.57. Students from aided schools fared better than those from government and unaided schools. While the pass percentage of boys and girls from aided schools is 53.14 and 60.62 respectively, the pass percentage of boys and girls from unaided schools is 51.73 and 58.22. Among the districts, the first five places have been secured by Bijapur (84.98 pass percentage), Bagalkot (80.17), Chikkodi (78.82), Haveri (73.78) and Bangalore Rural (73.52). The last five positions have been secured by Bidar (36.05 pass percentage), Bangalore South (39.19), Chikkaballapur (39.36), Mysore (44.16) and Bangalore North (44.55). The release said that KSEEB had made arrangements to announce the results of the supplementary examinations at all the high schools and junior colleges at 4 p.m. on Saturday. The heads of all schools have been directed to collect the result sheets from the Block Education Officers’ concerned on Saturday morning. The results will be available online after 11 a.m. on www.kseeb.org, www.kar.nic.in, sslc.kar.nic.in, karresults.nic.in.
