CPI(M) stages demonstration

Tirupur: Members of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) staged demonstration at various parts of the city on Friday to protest against the hike in prices of petrol and diesel. The agitators said that the hike has put enormous financial burden on the common man and hence should be withdrawn immediately.

Fraud by cashier alleged

The Central Crime Branch are on the lookout for a cashier of a textile unit who had allegedly withdrawn Rs. 3.57 lakh from the firm’s account by forging signature of the owner. The cash was withdrawn from a bank in the city.
