Book on branding launched

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: ‘Googly – Branding on Indian Turf’, a book on branding by Ramanujam Sridhar, CEO and founder of Brand-Comm, was launched recently. It is a sequel to his first book, ‘One land, one billion minds’, a press release said. The book is divided into four sections — Indian consumers, brands, advertising and one devoted to specific case studies. It also has a section on PR, which Brand-Comm specialises in. A part of the sale proceeds of the book will go towards funding Prerana, a non-governmental organisation working in the area of education for the underprivileged children of Bangalore.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Sridhar said “Considering that people today have time constraints and would rather stay away from any kind of preaching, the book is an easy read and gives meaningful insights into the world of branding and advertising.”

The Hindu Managing Director N. Murali launched the book at a function organised by the Advertising Club Madras. Mr. Sridhar is a communication consultant, author, columnist, teacher, trainer, cricket enthusiast and a social activist. A postgraduate in management from IIM-Bangalore, he is now writing a text book on advertising and brand management.
