BANGALORE: The State Government’s ambitious Kannada Ganga project aimed at providing 24/7 water supply from surface water sources to city municipal councils and town panchayats will be implemented with an investment of Rs. 750 crore in the next three years. Minister for Urban Development and Law and Parliamentary Affairs Suresh Kumar said in the first phase, the project would implemented in 19 cities and towns. The State government would contribute 40 per cent of the expenditure while local bodies share 20 per cent. The remaining 40 per cent of the cost would be met by borrowings from financial institutions. — Special Correspondent
