‘No plea for Cauvery water’

Special Correspondent

Bangalore: Karnataka Minister for Water Resources Basavaraj Bommai said here on Friday that Tamil Nadu had not in recent times put forward any demand for the release of Cauvery water. He said: “I’m sure Tamil Nadu is fully aware of the distress in the Cauvery basin in Karnataka.” Mr. Bommai said Bhagamandala in Kodagu received heavy rain over the last 24 hours and this should ensure good flow to the KRS over the next few days. The water level at the KRS on Friday stood at 72.75 feet. The maximum level is 124.80 feet and the present inflow is 578 cusecs.
