ZP president registers under job scheme

Shimoga: President of Shimoga Zilla Panchayat Ashokmurthy has enrolled himself and his family members under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) to take up work at Kukke near Mandagadde in Tirthahalli taluk. Mr. Ashokmurthy told a press conference here on Friday that the fact that the work proposed under the NRGES was aimed at the progress of his village had driven him to enrol his family under the scheme.

He said, “There should be no inferiority complex when it comes to progress of our village”.
