Suspension of warden recommended

THENI: Collector P. Muthuveeran recommended suspension of a warden in the Government Kallar Reclamation hostel at Annanji to the Joint Commissioner for Kallar Reclamation here on Friday.
Reacting to a phone call made by one of the hostel mates, the Collector ordered an inquiry and deputed an official.
On inquiry, he found that the breakfast was not at all provided to the inmates for a long time.
Instead, the hostel offered only rice and chutney for breakfast. Quality of raw materials including rice, cereals and pulses used for cooking was very poor and below the standard.
Non-vegetarian food too was not served as per norms of the government. Even vegetables were not purchased as per recommendation of the government.
On submission of report, the Collector recommended suspension of the warden, according to officials in the Collectorate.
Mr. Muthuveeran had received a phone call on Thursday morning from a student who complained that the poor quality of food was served to inmates for a long time.
