Vision test for school students from July 14

Medical officers will conduct training for teachers
KRISHNAGIRI: School students in the district will undergo vision test under the Chief Minister’s ‘Pallichirar Kannoli Kappom Thittam’ from July 14.
Collector V.K. Shanmugam conducted a consultation meeting in this connection on Thursday.
He said authorities would conduct the vision check-up for 4,527 students from Standard VI to VIII in 511 schools.
As a prelude to this scheme, 453 teachers would be given vision check-up training by the block medical officers from July 13. The trained teachers would go to the schools and check the students.
Spectacles would be distributed to the students before September 15, the Collector said.
Dr. V. Devarasu, Joint Director (Medical Services), Dr. A. Ganesan, Deputy Director (Medical Services), M. Baskaran, Chief Education Officer and other officials participated in the meeting.
