Anganwadi workers arrested

They stage demonstration

KARUR: The Tamil Nadu Government Employees’ Association staged a demonstration to highlight their seven-point charter of demands including release of arrears pertaining to the period January 1, 2006 and December 31, 2006, and payment of arrears in two instalments instead of three at present.

They have also sought raising graded pay by 50 per cent and sanction of consolidated pay for anganwadi workers, noon meal staff, village assistants, makkal nala paniyalargal and rural librarians.

The demonstrations were conducted in front of the Commercial Tax Office, Taluk Office, Collector Office, Kulithalai Taluk Office, Kulithalai Taluk Office, Krishnarayapuram Panchayat Union Office and Aravakurichi Taluk Office in Karur district.
