‘Allot land to industrial units’

Staff Reporter

VISAKHAPATNAM: Major Industries Minister Kanna Lakshminarayana directed officials to be proactive in allotting land to small industrial units.

At a review meeting with officials of the Industries Department and APIIC here on Friday, he said though prospective entrepreneurs were coming forward to set up units, they were discouraged by non-allotment of land by the government agencies.

On the other hand, land allotted for setting up units was lying vacant in industrial estates. Such land should be identified and action taken according to law, Mr. Lakshminarayana said.

Efforts should be made for promoting industry in the 110 acres at Aganampudi, 35 acres at Gambhiram, 200 acres at Sabbavaram and 45 acres in F Block of Autonagar as the land was vacant, he said.
