Demonstration at Delhi University

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The Academic Forum for Social Justice held a protest demonstration in front of the office of Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Deepak Pental on Thursday over its “pending” demands pertaining to faculty appointments and admissions.

A delegation, including the forum’s president Kedar Mandal and secretary Parthasarathi, later met Prof. Pental.

“The V-C accepted our suggestion to publish the roster of all the colleges on the University website to ensure transparency in the nature of the teaching posts advertised and check highhandedness of the colleges,” said Mr. Mandal in a press release later.

“Prof. Pental assured us that the University will write to all the colleges to fill the ad hoc teaching positions reserved for the Other Backward Classes with the candidates belonging to the same category,” he added.
