Woman, daughter knocked down by train

NEW DELHI: A 20-year-old woman and her nine-month-old daughter were killed when they came under the wheels of a goods train at Narela in Outer Delhi on Thursday.

According to the police, the tragic incident took place around 10-30 a.m. when Sudesh, wife of Manish Khatri, was returning home after getting medicines for her ailing daughter Himanshi.

According to eyewitnesses, they were crossing the railway track at Gate 17 when a goods train coming from the Sonepat side knocked them down. The mother and the daughter were killed on the spot.

Sudesh’s husband is a farmer.
