DDA officer held on graft charge

NEW DELHI: An assistant director with the Delhi Development Authority has been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Branch of the Delhi Government for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.3,000 to issue formal orders for cancellation of transfers of two supervisors.
Umesh Chand and Ram Avtar Singh lodged a complaint with the ACB that Ved Prakash Gautam, an assistant director with the DDA, was demanding Rs.2,000 each from them to issue orders for cancellation of their transfers. They were earlier posted with Circle 8, but were recently transferred to another unit.
