TIRUCHI: The members of the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) staged a demonstration at Palakkarai in the city on Thursday demanding the Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) management to take initiative for implementing all the conditions accepted by it in the agreement reached with the mine contract workers last year. They condemned the steps taken by the management, the State government and the Police to thwart the strike of the contract workers to urge the implementation of the last year’s agreement. The district AITUC president, N. Balakrishnan led the agitation in which the district secretary of the CPI, T. Indrajit, the state committee member of the party, M. Selvaraj, city secretary, K. Suresh, and the district secretary of the AITUC, N. Mani and others participated.
