Hand over Chacko cases to Corps of Detectives: city police

Bangalore: The Bangalore City Police Department has said that the Corps of Detectives (CoD) should investigate all cases filed against Joseph Chacko who had allegedly cheated NRIs of crores of rupees promising them sites.

Speaking to presspersons here on Thursday, Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari said: “We will request the State Government to hand over cases against him to the CoD. In a meeting, held recently, we have decided to write to the State Government in this connection.” At least 40 cases have been registered against Chacko.

He was arrested on June 17 by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths in Kolkata.
