BANGALORE: Dr. Chengappa has constituted a four-member committee to inquire into the suicide.
Dr. Chengappa told The Hindu that the committee includes two members from the Dalit community to which the victim belonged. The committee has been told to file a report within three days.
The vice-chancellor has also convened an emergency meeting of the University’s Board of Regents — an apex governing body of the university — on Saturday to discuss the issue.
It is understood that the university has decided to replace Dean (Agriculture) Chandrakant. His replacement is expected to be announced on Friday.
