CHANDIGARH: The Haryana State Secretariat of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has criticised the steep increase in the prices of petrol and diesel by the Union Government. In a statement, Haryana CPI (M) secretary Inderjit Singh described the move as “deceiving the common man just after the elections”. Adverse effectsCharging that the hike would have a deleterious effect on people already reeling under high prices of essential commodities and food items, he demanded that the hike be rolled back immediately and the Government take alternative measures to deal with the impact of growing international prices of crude oil.
