Niranjan and Arvind score centuries

HYDERABAD: P.S. Niranjan hit his third century of the season when he cracked an unbeaten 102 (16x4) to help India Cements draw its match against Ensconse in the A-division (three-day) league cricket championship here on Thursday.

In another match, Arvind Shetty slammed a stroke-filled 124 (13x4, 3x6) to help Bharat Dynamics Ltd. score 306 for eight on the first day against AOC Centre.

Easy for CCOB XI

City College Old Boys XI recorded an easy 3-1 win over P. Gowrishankar XI in the Sachdev Sports Cup veterans’ football tournament organised by Shastri Soccer Club at Trimulgherry Village Grounds here.

Sajid, Karar and Syed Arif scored for the winner, while Machender Kumar reduced the margin.

Mounika congratulated

Sports Authority of India (STC, Saroornagar) Administrator K. Prabhakar congratulated Mounika, 200m national record holder, on being selected to represent India in the World Youth Athletics Championship to be held in Italy from July 8 to 12.

SAI athletics coach Nagapuri Ramesh has also been picked to go with the Indian contingent for the meet.
