Staff Reporter

BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) arrested a suspected Indian Mujahideen member and former SIMI operative, Mohammad Irfan, wanted in the Ahmedabad serial blast case, here on Wednesday.

State ATS chief Pawan Shrivastava confirmed the arrest.

“We arrested Mohammad Irfan from Karond in Bhopal on Wednesday and presented him in court the same afternoon, to avoid any human rights violation issues, from where he was sent on a judicial remand of 15 days” Mr. Shrivastava said.

“He was wanted by the Narsinghpur police and so he has been sent there on a transit remand,” he said.
