BANGALORE: Bescom streamlined the ongoing power cuts from Thursday by sticking to the rota of load-shedding prepared by it on Wednesday night. As reported earlier, residential areas in Bangalore witnessed load-shedding of one hour each in the morning and evening peak hours (from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.) while the industrial and commercial consumers went without power for two hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is an effort to properly manage the power load with whatever limited supply is available. We are trying to spread the load throughout the day through such an exercise which is aimed at reducing chaos,” said a senior Bescom official. Meanwhile, as per the rota, urban areas, other than Bangalore, in Bescom jurisdiction will have two hours of load-shedding in the morning peak hours and one hour of load-shedding in the evening peak hours. The industrial areas will have power cuts for two hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. as in Bangalore. The worst affected will be those in villages as they would get power supply only for 12 hours a day. This includes six hours of three-phase power on which they can operate the irrigation pump sets and six hours of single-phase supply which can take care of domestic consumption. Of the six hours of three-phase supply, three hours would be supplied in the day and another three hours in the night.
