BANGALORE: The State Human Rights Commission has directed the Government to pay compensation of Rs. 3 lakh to the parents of a 12-year-old girl who died after being crushed under a steel almirah at the Golithottu Government Higher Primary School near Haleangadi in Dakshina Kannada district. A press release from the SHRC said that the commission’s chairman S.R. Nayak was of the view that the girl died owing to the management’s negligence.
Mr. Nayak also directed the Government to pay compensation within a month from the date of receipt of notice and submit a detailed report with regard to the accident.
