5 killed in suspected militant attack

GUWAHATI: Suspected militants gunned down five persons including four minors and injured three others in an attack on Dimasa village in the troubled North Cachar Hills district in southern Assam on Wednesday night.

The deceased have been identified as Karon Thonglo (25), Warsi Thonglo (2), Dapola Langthasa (10), Lambo Langthasa (6) and Senring Langthasa (3).

Official sources said militants opened indiscriminate fire on residents of Semkhor killing the five on the spot and critically injuring the others.
