Pawan’s century in vain

CHENNAI: K.B. Pawan’s century was an exercise in futility as Canara Bank (Bangalore) lost to IOC (Mumbai) by three wickets in a round robin league encounter for the YSCA Trophy here on Wednesday.

In another match, India Cements’ medium-pacer J. Koushik claimed three wickets for one run as Rail Wheel Factory (Bangalore) was dismissed for 52. India Cements overhauled the target in the 13th over.

R. Sathish of Chemplast Sanmar ‘B’ scored an unbeaten 76 as his team chased down 153 for the loss of just two wickets against IOB.

Pawan 104, Bharat Chipli 29, Paresh Patel two for 35, Rajesh Pawar two for 39 ) lost to IOC (Mumbai) 202 for seven in 29.3 overs (Paresh Patel 35, Ravikanth Shukla 55); Rail Wheel Factory (Bangalore) 52 in 19.5 overs (Shoiab Manager 27, J. Koushik three for one, V. Arun Kumar three for 17) lost to India Cements 54 for one in 12.3 overs (K.B. Arun Karthik 29 n.o.); IOB 153 in 29.3 overs (Amit Pathak 46, G. Vignesh two for 12, S. Vidyuth two for 22, V. Maruti Raghav two for 26) lost to Chemplast Sanmar ‘B’ 154 for two in 22.2 overs (R. Sathish 76 n.o., J. Syed Mohammed 36, G. Vignesh 35); SBT (Thiruvananthapuram) 192 for nine in 30 overs ( P.V. Manikandan 54, S. Ramakrishnan 33, Chetan Williams three for 39) bt SBM (Bangalore) 160 for nine in 30 overs (Tilak Naidu 53, M.K. Manjunath 30, K. Chandrasekara three for 29, V.A. Jagadeesh two for 13).

Kunal shines

Kunal struck an unbeaten 60 as Chettinad Vidyashram beat Union Christian MHSS by nine wickets in the Bhavan’s Rajaji Vidyashram Golden Jubilee Twenty20 tournament here on Wednesday.

The scores: Union Christian 115 for four in 20 overs (R. Chandru 55, Balasubramaniam 30) lost to Chettinad Vidyashram 117 for one in 13.1 overs (Kunal 60 n.o.).

PS SSS 121 for eight in 20 overs (M. Adithyan 40, Selva three for 19) lost to Santhome HSS 125 for one in 15.1 overs (B. Kishore Kumar 62).
