Rs. 6 crore worth paddy seized

SANGAREDDY: The Vigilance and Enforcement officials on Tuesday night and Wednesday seized Rs. 6 crore worth paddy from the godowns belonging to a rice mill at Jogipet in Medak district.

According to sources, the officials conducted raid at the godown of Ramakrishna Agro Industries.The officials informed that they seized 62,000 quintals of paddy from the four godowns which were illegally stored. However, the millers refuted the allegations made by the vigilance officials stating that they had not exceeded the permissible limits. Joint Collector Ram Sankar Naik told The Hindu that the administration would act firmly against those businessmen who stored the paddy illegally.
