HYDERABAD: The police on Wednesday arrested four persons from old city who allegedly murdered a woman two years ago and burnt her body at a secluded place in Choutuppal of Nalgonda district.
A three-wheeler was seized from the arrested quartet –Shaik Abdul 25, Mohd. Khaja, 27, Abdul Nazeer, 38, and Shaik Iqbal Ahmed, 22, all residents of Yakutpura, Commissioner’s Task Force (West) Inspector M. Srinivasa Rao, told reporters.
Arshad fell in love with Mariam, youngster sister of the victim, Kanees Fatima, who was living with her parents having divorced her husband. Mariam’s family members rejected Arshad’s proposal since they belonged to different sects. However, Arshad continued to meet Mariam secretly. On learning this, Fatima had gone to his house one day and abused his parents warning them of dire consequences. Angered over this, Arshad decided to eliminate Fatima and lured her to Choutuppal offering toddy in the last week of October, 2007 while his friends followed him behind in a three-wheeler carrying petrol cans.
Toddy poisoned
Arshad poisoned the woman to death by offering toddy laced with cyanide and later burnt the body.
